An Occasion for Joy!
Today the message is entitled “An Occasion for Joy!” We are looking at the Christmas story and our overall theme is “What Child is This?” We just listened to the reading of Luke 2: 8-20 and heard from a Shepherd as to his memory of what happened. Joy is the keyword for today and we will look at a few occasions to have joy.

Today the message is continuing with the theme “What Child is This? This week’s title is “Joseph Listens to God.” We are going to look at having Peace through Listening to God. Why Do We Gather Together?
Today the message is entitled “Why Do We Gather Together?!” Why do we “gather together?” Is it some impulse or desire for companionship? Maybe a natural need to be together. Are we following a tradition or mandate?
How might I become a humble follower?
Today the message is entitled “How might I become a humble follower?” We become followers when we decide to try to be like someone else. Fan clubs, groupies, disciples, and sheep are names given to describe people who are followers. There are also extremists and radicals who are followers. Whatever name or title you want to put on them, they believe in the person or program, religion or science, politics or ideals. As followers, they would do just about anything for the cause they believe in.
God Controls the Waters!
Today the message is entitled “God Controls the Waters!” We are going to look at Psalm 114 to see what it says about God and water. The theme is “remembering what God has done with water to show us His power and direction.” This is also the Sunday before Remembrance Day. I want to consider the question: “How are this Psalm and Remembrance Day similar?
Raise a Child to Know God!
Today the message is entitled “Raise a Child to Know God!” I have read all kinds of books over the years about raising children. Especially when I was a single parent, as I wanted to be sure that my children had the best chance at growing up to be wise and loving. After all that reading, I still find the Bible to be the best source to use while being responsible for their little, growing minds and bodies.
Two Ways Forward – Pushed and Pulled
Today the message is entitled “Two Ways Forward!” Theme is “Are you pushed or pulled forward to Godliness?” I believe that as we grow in our relationship with God, He both pushes and pulls us along the path He set before us. God tends to lead us by encouraging us to follow – that is pulling. God can also push us when we hesitate to follow.
Trials and Tests Develop Perseverance and Wisdom
Today the message is entitled “Trials and Tests Develop Perseverance and Wisdom!” Lately, I have been working with many people who are in the midst of trials and testing that at times are overwhelming for them. As I have been praying and encouraging them, I once again realized that this battle is not new. I asked God to give me wisdom in working through these tough times with these troubled people. God led me to James chapter one!
Give Thanks to God!
Today the message is entitled “Give Thanks to God!” Reasons to Be Thankful—Psalm 136: 1-9… Charles H. Spurgeon states: “Most hymns with a solid, simple chorus become favorites with congregations, and this is sure to have been one of the best beloved. It contains nothing but praise. It is tuned to rapture, and can only be fully enjoyed by a devoutly grateful heart.”
How to Fix Your Sin
Today the message is entitled “How to Fix Your Sin – Call 275-843-5673 (Ask The Lord)!” I saw this title on a sign a long time ago and put it away in my future ideas file. Today is a great day to consider what it says as we prepare to partake of Communion together, remembering what Jesus did for us.
The Day That Changed The World!
Today the message is entitled “The Day That Changed The World!” Throughout mankind’s history, there have been many times that an event occurs that changes the world for ever. Is Your Foundation On the Rock?
Today the message is entitled “Is Your Foundation On the Rock?” This message is a result of an experience Val and I had on our holidays. We had the opportunity to spend a day in the Crowsnest Pass seeing all the history of the early settling of that area. One of those sites was the ruins of a coal processing plant and home of the managers.
Store up or give the first fruits?
Today the message is entitled “Store up or give the first fruits?” Recently it came to my attention that some of you did not understand tithing. My hope is that you will go away knowing more about this important act of worship. There are many ideas out there on the concept of stewardship and tithing. This is what God has taught me over the years – check it out for yourselves and let God show you what He wants you to do.
God’s Grace Transforms Us!
Today the message is entitled “God’s Grace Transforms Us!” Over the past few months, God has been nudging me to remind you of the reason why we come together in a church, have a service and social activities (like the corn roast lunch today). Also, what we should be doing with our lives that God has so graciously given us. How we should live to be witnesses of God’s love to the world.
Save Your People Lord!
Today the message is entitled “Save Your People Lord!” As this message was developing, it started out to be about King David’s plea for the Israelite people and how we should have the same plea today. Now that it is finished, the message is about our finding God and standing with God in this world today.

Discerning God’s Will
Today my message is entitled “Discerning God’s Will”. I have had quite a few people coming to me asking how to know if God is leading and how to know what God wants them to do and if it is the right time to do it. Then, in my reading, God has put a bunch of articles in front of me on this topic. So I have discerned that God wants this talked about.
Tender Loving Care!
Today my message is entitled “Tender Loving Care!” The main Scripture came from God a few weeks ago and my original thoughts were to look at the part of working to not be a burden. As the weeks went by, God took me to the other part of this passage that talks about being gentle like a mother with her child. I found my title in a devotional in “Our Daily Bread” sample edition.
