First Time Visiting First Baptist Church?
Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to First Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”! Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.
What should I wear to Church?

There is not a dress code at First Baptist Church for members or guests. Our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit to our church.

Do I have to give money in the collection?

No. We don’t invite you to First Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

Where do I take my children?

At every service there is a fully equipped safe and clean nursery for children three years old and under. Mothers or fathers can bring and stay with their children. There are comfortable rocking chairs for parents and plenty of toys for children. Coffee is available and live video feed of the service and morning message can be viewed on TV. For children four years through 12 years old there is a fun, friendly, Bible-centered Sunday School activities available during morning service. These classes are staffed with friendly, well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.

What steps has your church put in place to make sure my children are safe?

First Baptist Church has implemented criminal record checks on all leadership with the addition of an enhanced check for those that work with children. All doors to classrooms have windows so that activities can be observed. Parents are welcome to sit in or help out with any activity in which their children are involved in.

Should I take communion?

In our church, we observe the Lord’s Supper (Communion) on the first Sunday of each month. We carefully read and explain I Corinthians 11:17-34. All those who are true believers in God through personal faith in Jesus Christ, His Son, are invited to partake of the Lord’s Supper. Communion is only for believers in Jesus Christ. Why? Communion is a remembrance of what Christ has done on the cross on our behalf. Only a believer accepts this teaching and has embraced it. Further, only a believer can “examine himself” as Scripture teaches as part of the requirement for taking Communion (1 Corinthians 11:28). During the communion service, time is provided for each person to reflect on their relationship to God, their motive for partaking, and to meditate prayerfully upon the meaning of those elements. May the Lord bless you in understanding the Biblical message and meaning of communion, so the practice can be a real blessing to you.
